Designing a Dream Home in Mangalore: Coastal Climate Interior Strategies
Coastal homes face unique environmental challenges: high atmospheric humidity, salt-laden sea air, and intense monsoon seasons. When Mr. Shridhar and Mrs. Anupama engaged Anjani Infra for their sea-facing Mangalore villa, material durability was their number one priority.
We engineered a design strategy that blends Scandinavian coastal aesthetics with industrial-grade moisture resistance.
Marine-Grade Substrates & Anti-Corrosive Hardware
All cabinetry throughout the home was built using calibrated 100% boiling waterproof (IS:710) Gurjan marine plywood. For hinges and drawer runners, we installed SS304 marine-grade stainless steel fittings that never oxidize or corrode in salty air.
Breathable Fabrics & Mold-Resistant Finishes
Instead of heavy velvet upholstery, we utilized natural linen and quick-dry performance fabrics. Wall finishes were treated with anti-fungal breathable emulsions that prevent dampness and micro-mold formation during torrential coastal rains.
